This image just came to me and I painted it.
It’s a clown who carries a clown’s nose. It’s heavy. Maybe he’s tired of having to be a clown all the time, but his identity is so tied up in it that he carries the nose with him wherever he goes, even without make-up on. Or maybe it’s symbolic for how whenever we exaggerate any part of our identity or emotion, it tends to get out of control and eventually takes us down with it. Or maybe it represents how people can sometimes only see one aspect of our whole selves and limit us in their view of us. Or maybe we limit ourselves, thinking this is what others think we ought to be. Or maybe… what do you see?
(If you like this painting, you can get a poster of it in my shop.)
