Trip to London – Part 1: Thursday

And we’re back! 🙂
April 30th until today, May 5th, Sander and I spent in London. I’m not much of a photographer, so I’ll just briefly tell the tale here and the handful of photo’s I made might appear here later.

Our flight left at 10.30 in the morning, CEST. I had never flown before, but all in all that first flight went well. the liftoff was okay, the flying itself was no problem at all. But getting up to speed and liftoff is not really my cup of tea. Our flight lasted -10 minutes… 😉

Then we took the train from Stansted to London Liverpool Street and the underground to Colliers Wood station, where we had booked a room at the Holiday Inn hotel. The hotel is situated right across the road from the underground. The London underground is as I remember it, easy to understand, busy and you need to be willing to travel sideways or standing to use it (as you might guess, I am not overly fond of that, but it was okay).

That same day we went to Ripley’s Believe It Or Not. We bought travelcards for the London underground (7-day zone 1-2-3 is cheaper than buying day-cards) and got a 2for1 voucher book with it. Ripley’s was in it as well. We soon discovered that we should have filled in the blue coupons in the back. Instead, we’d only brought the (coupon-less) booklet. Better luck next time.

That evening, the two of us ate at a Chinese restaurant for about 30 pounds total and there was enough to feed four mouths. Right now I’ve only been home for a few hours and very tired, so I’ll dig through my pile of paperwork tomorrow to see if I kept the receipt. I’m pretty sure I didn’t…

Good night!
